Good news for coal exporters


CHINA Shenhua Energy is forecasting higher spot coal and freight prices this year, while expecting its Watermark project near Gunnedah in New South Wales to produce 10 million tonnes per annum after construction finishes in 2013.

World’s largest solar projects arrive down under


PLANS to go ahead with the world’s largest solar power plant were given a boost yesterday with the announcement that Australian company Silex Systems has completed the acquisition of the assets of Solar Systems, principally the plans for the 154-megawatt heliostat solar concentrator power station in Victoria.

Australian snapshot shows climate change reality
